Our hearts were filled in Haiti
What an amazing trip. Arriving in Haiti, we had no idea what to expect. or what the journey would bring. We were instantly received with smiles and warmth all around. The juxtaposition of beauty and poverty helps put life in perspective. If you get the chance to go, we highly recommend it.
While in Haiti, we had a chance to test all of our building skills, and nothing in the world was more rewarding than doing things like building bunk beds for the local children, installing electrical to make sure the fans were working at the churches, and more.
It was also amazing how everyone wanted to help! The children would gather around looking for ways to contribute, and that was unforgettable.
We also discovered that our very own Jonah was a baby whisperer. This poor baby was very upset about something, and no one could figure out how to make it better. In comes Jonah, wearing a cape (Was he?), and immediately creates a bond with the baby. We are all still trying to figure out how he did it!
We look forward to more opportunities where we can spread the gospel, love, and joy that comes from these trips. Haiti holds a special place in our hearts.
